ESTHER THYMIAN BROOKS
Jim quit high school and joined the Navy in 1944 during World War II. He earned his GED later. After graduating from Rothsay, Minnesota high school, I worked for Western Union Telegraph Co. in Los Angeles. That's where we met. It was love at first sight for both of us. After Jim was discharged from the Navy and my detail was complete with Western Union, we were married at my parent's farm home in Rothsay. We moved to Jim's home in Richmond, Virginia to live. Jim went back to the R.E & P. Railroad Yard Office where he had worked while going to high school and I went back to work for Western Union. God has been very good to us and has blessed us in many ways.
